HCMC – Border gates in the northern province of Lang Son have remained operational in the ongoing National Day holiday, ensuring a steady flow of goods in and out of Vietnam.
Local authorities have plans to facilitate customs clearance and manage traffic during the holiday from August 31 to September 3.
The Vietnam News Agency reported that Lang Son’s international border gates between Vietnam and China, including Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh, Coc Nam, Chi Ma, and Dong Dang railway station, have maintained regular operations.
The Huu Nghi International Border Gate has seen an average of nearly 2,000 vehicles and 6,000 people passing through daily. Border officials have been working extended hours, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with some departments operating until 10 p.m., to handle the increased trade volume.
Goods imported into Vietnam through Huu Nghi mainly include electronic components, machinery, household appliances, and new automobiles. Exports to China and other countries primarily consist of fresh fruits, agricultural products, and spare parts.
In 2024, Lang Son’s trade revenue reached US$32 billion between January and July. The province aims to achieve US$50 billion in total import and export value for the entire year.
