Chao Show is a one-of-a-kind artistic experience that takes audiences on a captivating journey through Vietnamese cultural identity. Through the harmonious fusion of music, visuals, and cuisine, this immersive program offers a profound multisensory exploration of tradition and heritage.

At the heart of Chao Show is a celebration of traditional Vietnamese music, featuring an extraordinary orchestra composed of 30 ethnic musical instruments—one of the most diverse ensembles in the country.

Spanning 12 distinct performances, the show transports viewers through the northern, central, and southern regions of Vietnam. Each act is accompanied by the rustic melodies of instruments such as the T’rung, gongs, two-stringed fiddle (Nhi), đàn bầu, pipap, bamboo flutes, and zither. More than just a musical showcase, the program provides a deep dive into the history and significance of each instrument, offering audiences a richer understanding of their origins and cultural importance.

Chao Show runs from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, at 6 Nguyen Sieu Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, HCMC. Admission is VND1.3 million per person, which includes food, drinks, and wine.

The experience space at Chao Show
An outstanding feature of Chao Show is the combination of music and regional cuisine. Throughout the performance, the audience can enjoy nine signature dishes representing the three regions of the country: North, Center and South.

Artist Cao Ho Nga plays drums
A female artist plays the T’rung – a traditional percussion instrument of the Central Highlands, particularly popular among the Gia Rai and Ba Na ethnic groups. The instrument is made from bamboo or rattan tubes of varying lengths, arranged in order to produce characteristic high and low notes.
The two-stringed fiddle Nhi is a stringed instrument with two strings played with a bow. Nhi is typically made from silk or steel strings and is common in Vietnamese folk music.
Each musical chapter ends with an introduction to a typical musical instrument from the corresponding region
During the performance, the artists do not remain in fixed positions but take turns switching places to play different instruments

Each artist can play 8-10 different instruments in the program, which lasts about 120 minutes
The goal of Chao Show is to become a distinctive cultural destination in the evening, offering both domestic and international visitors an experience of Vietnamese identity when they visit HCMC
Amid the bustle of urban life, the characteristic sounds of instruments like the T’rung, đàn bầu, drums, gongs, Khen panpipe… and more from various regions of Vietnam resonate, not only as a cultural greeting to visitors but also as a call back – a reminder to Vietnamese people of their cultural roots
