HCMC – Vietnam Railways will begin selling tickets for the 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday from September 20, but group bookings are accepted earlier, from September 15, the company said on Friday.
Thong Nhat train tickets for the Tet holiday will be valid for trips between February 3 and March 8, 2026.
Group customers, including armed forces units, universities, industrial parks, export processing zones and social organizations, will be able to register for tickets from Sept 15 to 19.
Starting at 8 a.m. on September 20, tickets will be available to the public at railway stations, authorized agents, the official website and partner sales platforms.
The plan aims to meet a surge in passenger demand during Tet, when millions of people return to their hometowns to celebrate the holiday.
