Tran Duc partners with global construction technology firms to advance timber architecture

Must read

Leading construction and design technology firms from Europe, the United States, and Japan have entered strategic partnerships with Tran Duc Corporation to advance engineered timber solutions across Southeast Asia.

Announced at an industry event in Ho Chi Minh City on March 19, 2026, the collaborations highlight the fusion of global technologies with local capabilities as the sector shifts toward sustainable practices.

Partners include Rothoblaas (Italy) for timber structure solutions, MINDA (Germany) for advanced manufacturing, and Life Design Kababa (Japan), a leader in industrialized timber housing with over 50 years of experience. The event featured AIA Southeast Asia representatives.

Key speakers included Ms. Cathy Saldaña, President of AIA Southeast Asia; Mr. Yamaoka Yoshihiko of Life Design Kabaya; Mr. Mario Kurniadi of Rothoblaas Indonesia; Mr. Andreas Rudolf of MINDA; and Mr. Nguyen Huy Hien, Technical Director of Tran Duc Corporation.

Experts noted the construction industry’s transformation, with sustainability and carbon reduction central. Engineered timber, especially Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), stands out for carbon storage, lifecycle emission cuts, precision production, faster builds, and consistent quality.

Mr. Yamaoka highlighted Japan’s success with timber housing for speed and reliability, supported by Rothoblaas and MINDA technologies for precision and scale.

Southeast Asia holds strong potential for sustainable construction, yet challenges arise from value-chain misalignments in design, standards, manufacturing, and execution.

Tran Duc’s partnerships aim to close these gaps and enhance regional capabilities.

Mr. Tran Duc Hieu, CEO of Tran Duc Corporation, stated: “Effective timber solutions require tight integration across design, standards, manufacturing, and construction. International collaboration accelerates this and enables advanced applications domestically and regionally.”

The moves support Tran Duc’s strategy to build execution strength, expand global ties, and drive R&D, including a new sustainable model launch in June.

With over 20 years in timber manufacturing for architecture and interiors, Tran Duc continues investing in technologies to engage deeper in the global value chain and promote sustainable building across the region.
