HCMC – A clam fishing boat capsized due to rough waters in the Ba Lai River passing through Ben Tre Province’s Ba Tri District yesterday afternoon, August 20, leaving two local residents aboard dead and two others missing, reported VietnamPlus.
Duong Minh Tung, chairman of the district, said that the local competent forces were searching for the two missing persons—Tra Dang Danh, aged 32 and Nguyen Ba Loc, aged 33—both residents of the district’s My Hoa Commune.
According to the chairman, the incident occurred after Danh, Loc and six others got onto the boat toward the Ba Lai River to fish.
When the boat overturned, four of them managed to swim to the shore and survive.
The bodies of the two deceased, identified as Dang Thanh Qui, aged 25, and Nguyen Hoang Duy, aged 32, were found in the evening the same day.
