HCMC – The nation’s two largest airports – Tan Son Nhat in HCMC and Noi Bai in Hanoi – are expected to serve more than 800,000 passengers during the upcoming National Day holiday, up by 8-11% compared to regular days.
Noi Bai International Airport is projected to handle nearly 2,100 flights with around 338,000 passengers during the August 31-September 3 holiday, up 11% against normal days but down 16% compared to the same period last year.
The busiest day is anticipated to be September 3, with over 96,000 passengers and 569 domestic and international flights, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the number of passengers arriving and departing is expected to average around 120,000 per day, edging up 8% against regular days yet falling by 2% versus the same period last year.
August 30 is expected to see the highest number of departures, while September 3 will likely have the most arrivals, with 730 flights and 125,000 passengers on those days.
In response to the rising travel demand, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has called for enhanced security measures at airports, air traffic service facilities, and on flights departing from airports nationwide during the National Day holiday.
