HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 death toll rose to 13 this morning, August 10 after two Covid-19 patients from Danang City, both with underlying health conditions, died, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son has announced.
The 430th patient, a 33-year-old woman in Hai Chau District, Danang City, was the youngest Covid-19 patient to succumb so far. She suffered from late-stage kidney failure and also had a medical history of heart failure, sepsis and hypertension.
The patient was taken to Danang Hospital on July 23 after developing Covid-19 symptoms such as fatigue and shortness of breath and tested positive for Covid-19 on July 26.
She was transferred to Hue Central General Hospital in the neighboring Thua Thien-Hue Province on July 30, where she was put on a ventilator and then an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine. Her condition worsened on Sunday and she passed away at 0:30 a.m. today.
The second death today was the 737th patient, a 47-year-old woman in Son Tra District, Danang City.
She also suffered from late-stage kidney failure and had a medical history of heart failure and hypertension.
The patient was taken to Danang Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 on August 4 and was transferred to Hoa Vang District medical center on August 6.
She suffered from respiratory failure and was put on a ventilator on Sunday. The patient fell into a coma at 0:45 a.m. today and passed away at 1:15 a.m.
