Two pilots rescued after trainer aircraft crash

HCMC – The second pilot, Colonel Nguyen Van Son, has been found, local news reports said this evening, citing a source from the 940th Air Regiment.

At 8:20 p.m. on November 6, Colonel Tran Thanh Hai, deputy chief of Staff of Military Region 5, said that rescuers had reached the first pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan. Quan was located on a high mountain. He is in good health and uninjured.

Both pilots are in normal health condition.

On the night of November 6, hundreds of officers and soldiers from the 2nd Division, along with local forces, rushed to the forest to search for the two pilots who ejected from their Yak-130 trainer aircraft before it crashed.
