U.S. dollar firmer against Vietnamese dong

HCMC – The U.S. dollar has edged up against the Vietnamese dong currency today, June 4, said local media reports.

The State Bank of Vietnam this morning quoted the central reference exchange rate at VND25,004 per dollar, up by VND22 compared to yesterday.

With a trading band of 5% on either side of the central reference rate, today’s ceiling exchange rate is VND26,254 per dollar while the floor rate is VND23,754 per dollar.

At 8:25 a.m., Vietcombank and BIDV listed the U.S. dollar at VND25,870 for buying and VND26,230 for selling. Compared to yesterday morning, the rates were up by VND20 on both sides.

In the gold market, the selling price of gold bars was quoted at VND117.2 million per tael on the morning of June 4, unchanged from the previous trading session.

At around 10:30 a.m. on June 4, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) and DOJI capped gold bars at VND114.9 million per tael for buying and VND117.2 million per tael for selling.
