HCMC – Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has signed a decision approving the US$1.5-billion Khoai Chau urban, eco-tourism, and golf course complex project in the northern province of Hung Yen, said local media reports.
The project is proposed by a joint venture between Hung Yen Development Corporation and IDG Capital, with the latter representing the Trump Organization.
The high-end urban, resort, eco-tourism, sports, and international-standard golf course complex will cover a planned area of 990.43 hectares.
It is divided into four subzones: an eco-residential area linked to a high-end golf course with a population of 3,500; an eco-residential area with an ecological golf course for 1,800 residents; a commercial and service urban zone accommodating 29,700 people; and a green space with themed parks.
The golf complex will feature 54 holes, including one 36-hole course and one 18-hole course. Additionally, 7.28 hectares will be allocated for social housing, with synchronized infrastructure development planned across the entire project site.
The project has a total investment of around VND39.8 trillion, equivalent to US$1.5 billion, including VND4.1 trillion for land compensation and resettlement support, and VND35.7 trillion for project implementation.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and be completed by the second quarter of 2029. The project will operate for a period of 50 years.
It aims to maximize the region’s potential and advantages while gradually tapping into the tourism potential of the Red River route connecting Hung Yen with Hanoi and other northern provinces.
To implement the project, the prime minister has assigned the Hung Yen People’s Committee to take full responsibility for the reports, justifications, proposed grounds, commitments, and the accuracy of the information and content submitted.
