HCMC – The Van Phong-Nha Trang Expressway, a key segment of the North-South Expressway, is on track to open to traffic by April 30, 2025, eight months ahead of schedule, according to local media reports.
The VND12-trillion project commenced construction in early 2023. The Ministry of Transport’s Project Management Board No. 7 oversees the construction. Originally slated for completion within 34 months, the expressway will be ready ahead of schedule.
Spanning over 83 kilometers, the expressway traverses four districts and towns in Khanh Hoa Province: Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh, and Khanh Vinh.
Starting at the southern end of Co Ma Tunnel in Van Ninh District near National Highway 1, the expressway will feature four lanes, a width of 17 meters, and a maximum speed limit of 90 kilometers per hour.
According to the report from the project management board No. 7, the project has achieved 82% of its contracted construction value, with 77 kilometers of roadbed completed, reaching 96%.
