Vanuatu Prime Minister visits Vien Duong rice plants in Vietnam’s Can Tho

On January 18, 2026, as part of his official visit and working trip to Vietnam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu – His Excellency Jotham Napat, together with the delegation from the Vanuatu Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, visited the rice production plant system of Vien Duong Corporation in Can Tho. The event marks an important step forward in agricultural cooperation and reaffirms Vien Duong’s position in the international market.

A strategically significant visit

The presence of Prime Minister Jotham Napat at Vien Duong Corp plants demonstrates the special interest of the Vanuatu Government in the agricultural sector, particularly the supply chain of high-quality rice from Vietnam. The delegation was welcomed by the leadership of Vien Duong Corp along with leading technical experts.

Speaking at the working session, a representative of Vien Duong Corp expressed great honor in welcoming the state leader delegation. The visit was not only an opportunity to showcase production capacity but also served as evidence of the prestige and sustainable development orientation that Vien Duong Corp has consistently pursued over many years.

Objective: Affirming the quality of Vietnamese rice

During the program, Prime Minister Jotham Napat and the working delegation directly inspected the actual operation processes at two modern plants of Vien Duong Corp in Can Tho. The delegation spent time gaining in-depth understanding of:

Quality control system: Strict inspection procedures from raw material input to finished products.

Processing technology: High technical standards in milling, polishing, and packaging of export rice.

International standards: Food safety certifications and export compliance requirements for demanding markets.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated Vien Duong Corp systematic investment in technology and production scale, while acknowledging the company’s efforts in maintaining consistent rice grain quality to well meet the demands of the international market.

Opening doors to broaden international cooperation

The visit by the Prime Minister of Vanuatu went beyond touring facilities and opened promising prospects for deeper future cooperation. It provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss solutions for strengthening trade, connecting agricultural supply chains between Vietnam and Vanuatu.
