HCMC – The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong has announced vehicular movement restrictions on Bao Loc Pass from today until August 30 as the province is dealing with landslides on the pass.

There are 12 landslide-prone sites on a section of National Highway 20, which passes through Bao Loc City and Da Huoai District in Lam Dong Province, according to the Lam Dong Department of Transport.

The traffic restrictions are in effect from August 20 to August 30, with closures scheduled daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. During these hours, vehicle movement will be regulated by local authorities.

The Technical Centre for Road 4 under the Road Management Area IV stated that the traffic regulation on Bao Loc Pass will facilitate geological survey drilling to address the 12 identified landslide points.

The 10-kilometer Bao Loc Pass is part of National Highway 20 and a vital route connecting Dalat City in Lam Dong Province with the southeastern provinces of Vietnam. The pass is particularly vulnerable to landslides during the rainy season. A severe landslide occurred in late July 2023, leaving four deaths.
