The Hue Nam Temple Festival, also known as the Hon Chen Temple Festival, lit up the ancient capital city of Hue from August 11 to 13, drawing in pilgrims, locals, and tourists from around the world. This traditional event, which honors mothers in the third lunar month and fathers in the seventh lunar month, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam.
The festival took place at the Thien Tien Thanh Giao Holy Palace, Hue Nam Temple, and Hai Cat Communal House.
Known for its vibrant displays of colorful ancient costumes, the event featured unique performances and rituals that captivated all attendees. The festival not only recreates a large-scale folk celebration but also plays a crucial role in preserving and promoting the cultural values of the region.
This annual gathering is a significant part of the practice of worshiping Mau Tam Phu, a tradition recognized by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
