HCMC – Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang met Kerry Person, vice president for Data Center Development at Amazon Web Services (AWS), in Hanoi on March 4 to discuss expanding cooperation and investment in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Luong Tam Quang welcomed Amazon’s cooperation with Vietnamese ministries and agencies and noted the group’s long-term commitment and strategy in the country.
He said that under the Vietnam–U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Ministry of Public Security would continue to facilitate stable operations for foreign firms, including Amazon, in compliance with Vietnamese and international law.
Luong Tam Quang described Vietnam as a fast-growing economy in Southeast Asia with development potential, a skilled research and development workforce, and an investment environment suited to foreign businesses, including U.S. firms.
Kerry Person thanked the ministry for its support and highlighted Vietnam’s focus on digital transformation, innovation and secure, sustainable digital infrastructure. He said that Amazon plans to expand its investment activities in Vietnam and support the development of high-quality human resources.
The AWS executive also expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with units under the Ministry of Public Security and other Vietnamese partners, in line with Vietnamese and international regulations.
Both sides voiced confidence that closer cooperation would contribute to stronger economic and trade ties between Vietnam and the United States.
