HCMC – Vietnam had attracted 12.2 million international visitors in the year to the end of July, up nearly 23% year-on-year and 25% higher than the same period in 2019, according to the General Statistics Office.
In July alone, around 1.56 million international visitors came to Vietnam, up nearly 7% from June and almost 36% higher than the same period last year.
Air travel continued to account for the majority of international arrivals in July, with over 1.32 million visitors arriving by air, followed by more than 234,000 by land and over 2,500 by sea.
China remained the largest source market for international visitors to Vietnam in July, with over 391,000 arrivals, followed by South Korea with more than 317,000.
Other major source markets were familiar names seen in previous months, including Japan, Taiwan, India, Russia, Australia, and the United States.
In terms of growth momentum, Russia posted the highest increase, with the number of arrivals in July tripling compared to the same period in 2024.
With the current growth rate and visitor arrivals, Vietnam is well on track to meet its target of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors by the end of the year.
