HCMC – Vietnam and China both highly value their bilateral ties and strive to promote deeper and more substantial relations between the two parties and countries, according to information on a meeting between National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping met in Beijing today, April 8, as part of the former’s ongoing visit to China.
Xi was the first Chinese leader to meet with Hue, underscoring China’s high regard for the bilateral relationship and the Vietnamese delegation’s visit.
During the meeting, President Xi affirmed China’s support for Vietnam’s development, stability, and successful construction of socialism suitable to the country’s situation.
He emphasized that the agreement reached by the two countries’ top leaders in building a Community of Shared Future has a strategic meaning as it opens up a new period for bilateral cooperation based on six major directions of higher political trust, more substantial defense-security cooperation, deeper practical collaboration, stronger social foundation, closer multilateral coordination, better controlled and resolved differences, thus positively contributing to peace and development in the region and the world.
The two sides expressed delight over the positive development of Vietnam-China relations and emphasized the numerous similarities between the two parties and countries in terms of foundational ideologies and goals in building socialism.
NA Chairman Hue said that developing relations with China is a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy, stressing that Vietnam is consistent in the “One China” policy.
He proposed both sides enhance their strategic connectivity, create new momentum for bilateral cooperation, focusing on boosting trade, expanding goods import, especially Vietnamese farm produce, strengthening connectivity between Vietnam and major development strategies of China as well as links in railways, highways, sea and air, and promoting cooperation in finance, monetary, and digital transformation.
President Xi said that China highly values its relationship with Vietnam.
China is ready to maintain strategic exchanges with Vietnam, promote high-level contacts at all levels, enhance exchanges between the two communist parties, share experiences and theories on Party building and country governance, expedite strategic connectivity, and strengthen cooperation in the fields of digital economy, green energy, essential minerals and emerging industries.
