HCMC – Vietnam and Cuba have launched a joint network for agricultural biotechnology and natural healthcare in Havana, Cuba, aiming to enhance research cooperation and commercial collaboration between the two countries.

Leandro Luis Licea Vagas, president of Labiofam, which co-chaired the launch event, said the network would create major opportunities for joint research and development in biotechnology and for expanding trade in medical and healthcare products, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Duong Bich Diep, director of the Green Economy Institute, said the network would serve as a comprehensive platform linking ideas with practical implementation—from research to production and commercialization—helping bring Cuban biotechnology and pharmaceutical products to Vietnam and other markets.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long noted that the initiative would allow both countries to leverage their strengths and potential to produce valuable biotechnology and medical products, contributing to the well-being of their people.

The establishment of the network marks one of the key events celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 – December 2, 2025), underscoring the long-standing solidarity and friendship between the two nations.
