HCMC – Vietnam has exported the first shipment of its processed chicken products to Singapore, marking a new step for the country’s poultry industry in accessing high-standard markets.

The shipment was produced by C.P. Vietnam Corporation at its CPV Food Binh Phuoc plant, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

Singapore allows imports of processed poultry products that meet strict food safety requirements, including sterilised egg and canned poultry products. The decision is seen as a breakthrough for Vietnam’s livestock and food export sector, given Singapore’s stringent import controls.

Before entering Singapore, Vietnam’s processed chicken products had already been approved for export to Japan, Hong Kong, Cambodia and Laos. Shipments to Japan reached 10,000 tons as of November 2025.

The Singapore approval is expected to support broader access for Vietnamese poultry exporters seeking to enter high-income markets with strict regulatory frameworks.

Dong Nai, where the production facility is located, is one of Vietnam’s largest livestock-producing provinces. The province has about 3.84 million pigs and more than 36 million poultry. Local authorities said the export marked a milestone for the company and the province’s livestock sector.

Livestock accounts for around 45% of Dong Nai’s agricultural output, with production increasingly shifting from small-scale farming to industrial and farm-based models.
