HCMC – The Government of Vietnam will grant unilateral visa exemptions to citizens from 12 countries starting March 15, 2025, under a new government resolution. The policy will remain in effect until March 14, 2028.
The Government on March 7 issued Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP offering a unilateral visa waiver for citizens of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Travelers from these countries will be allowed to stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days after entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of visit, as long as they meet entry requirements, reported the Government news website (baochinhphu.vn).
The Government will review the policy before its expiration in 2028 and consider possible extensions.
International tourism in Vietnam has shown strong growth. According to the General Statistics Office, nearly four million foreign visitors arrived in Vietnam in the first two months of this year, a 30.2% increase over the same period last year.
