HCMC – As of 6.00 a.m. today, June 22, Vietnam has gone 67 consecutive days without any new Covid-19 infection in the community, with over 5,000 people having been quarantined, according to the national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control.
Some 5,600 individuals who came in contact with Covid-19-infected or suspected cases or returned from coronavirus-hit areas have undergone quarantine at healthcare facilities, while 74 others have been quarantined at local hospitals.
Among the 349 confirmed cases of Covid-19, as many as 327 patients have recovered from the virus and been discharged from the hospital.
As for the 22 active cases, four patients have tested negative for the virus twice, while the 91st patient, the country’s most critical case, has made a quick recovery, the local media reported.
The British pilot will be moved to the rehabilitation unit at Cho Ray Hospital this week, while procedures to transport him back to his hometown in Scotland are being executed.
Although the patient wishes to return home as soon as possible, the hospital will treat him until he can take care of himself, said the national steering committee, explaining that he does not have any relatives.
