Vietnam has 19 new Politburo members

HCMC – The Politburo of the 14th Party Central Committee has 19 members, with 10 of them already serving in the Politburo in the previous term.

The 14th Party Central Committee held its first plenum today, January 23, to elect the Politburo, the General Secretary, the Secretariat, the Inspection Commission and the chairperson of the Inspection Commission.

At the closing session of the 14th National Party Congress today afternoon, Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and chairman of the 15th National Assembly, reported the results of the elections of the Politburo, the General Secretary, the Secretariat, the Inspection Commission and the chairperson of the Inspection Commission for the 14th term.

Following is the list of 19 members of the 14th Politburo:

1. To Lam – General Secretary of the 13th-term Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Central Military Commission
2. Tran Thanh Man – Chairman of the 15th National Assembly
3. Tran Cam Tu – Standing Member of the Secretariat
4. Le Minh Hung – Head of the Central Organization Commission
5. Do Van Chien – Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly
6. Bui Thi Minh Hoai – Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee
7. Phan Van Giang – Minister of National Defense
8. Luong Tam Quang – Minister of Public Security
9. Nguyen Duy Ngoc – Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee
10. Nguyen Trong Nghia – Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army
11. Trinh Van Quyet – Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Mass Mobilization
12. Le Hoai Trung – Minister of Foreign Affairs
13. Le Minh Tri – Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs
14. Tran Luu Quang – Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee
15. Pham Gia Tuc – Chief of the Party Central Committee Office
16. Tran Sy Thanh – Chairperson of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission
