HCMC – The ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance this evening continued to set aside VND4,000 per liter from the fuel price stabilization fund to keep fuel prices unchanged.
At 7:30 p.m. on March 14, the two ministries announced the latest fuel price review after global fuel prices kept surging on March 13.
The base prices of petroleum products in Vietnam are 9.1% to 29.8% higher than a day earlier. RON95-III gasoline is up by 9.3%, diesel oil up by 16.6%, kerosene up by 29.8%, and heavy fuel oil up by 14.1%.
To keep retail prices unchanged, the two ministries continued to tap the fuel price stabilization fund in this adjustment cycle. The fund disbursement is VND4,000 per liter for RON95-III gasoline, kerosene, and heavy fuel oil, and VND5,000 per liter for diesel.
As a result, the price of RON95-III, the most commonly used grade of gasoline in the market, remains unchanged at VND25,570 per liter, while E5 RON92 biogasoline stays at VND22,500 per liter. Similarly, diesel and kerosene prices are the same as in the March 12 adjustment, at VND27,020 and VND26,930 per liter, respectively.
This marks the fifth consecutive adjustment in which the two ministries have drawn from the fuel price stabilization fund. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, maintaining fuel prices in this round aims to stabilize the fuel market and avoid impacts on socio-economic activities.
Fuel prices as of 7:30 p.m. on March 14:
RON95-III gasoline: VND25,570 per liter
E5 RON92 biogasoline: VND22,500 per liter
