HCMC – Asia Star Technology Investment JSC has successfully produced Vietnam’s first U.S.-certified air control chip, marking a breakthrough in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology manufacturing sector.
The product, known as the VAV Box “Starduct Belimo”, was officially launched during the HVACR Vietnam 2025 and Vietnam Energy Week held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center on November 5-7.
The VAV Box, or Variable Air Volume Box, functions as the brain of central air conditioning systems in buildings, hotels, and shopping malls. It automatically regulates airflow to maintain stable indoor temperatures across different zones while improving energy efficiency.
The device has earned AHRI 880 certification from the U.S. Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), a globally recognized benchmark for airflow accuracy, air leakage, noise control, and energy performance. To date, only 57 brands worldwide have achieved this certification, with Starduct Belimo becoming the first from Vietnam.
On the same occasion, Asia Star donated a Starduct Belimo VAV Box model to the Thermal Engineering Department of HCMC University of Technology. The donation aims to support training for future engineers and foster stronger ties between academia and industry.
Founded in 2004, Asia Star Technology operates a 15,000-square-meter manufacturing facility with more than 200 technicians and 50 engineers and R&D experts. Its Starduct-branded products are currently exported to several countries and territories, including the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Uruguay.
