HCMC – A Vietnamese student returning from Britain has tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 329 as of this morning, June 6, according to the Ministry of Health.
The 329th patient, a 22-year-old man, was sent to a quarantine center in Cu Chi District after arriving in Vietnam through HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on June 4.
The resident of Hanoi City had his blood sample checked on the same day. His positive test result came out on June 5. He is being treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital, the local media reported.
As of this morning, Vietnam has gone 51 days with no new Covid-19 cases caused via community transmission, but reported some coronavirus patients who have flown back from abroad.
Among the 329 confirmed cases, as many as 307 patients have recovered from Covid-19, while 22 others are receiving treatment at local hospitals, with only nine of them remaining positive for the virus.
