HCMC — Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung met with three leading European corporations—Revolut, iProov, and Cundall—on October 31 to promote cooperation in digital finance, biometric identification, and sustainable urban development.
Dung is in the UK for a visit from October 29 to November 1.
At a meeting with Revolut, one of Europe’s top fintech companies, Dung encouraged the firm to share its experience in building comprehensive digital banking models and managing risks in online financial services. He invited Revolut to explore investment opportunities in Vietnam, including fintech solutions, cross-border payments, and personal finance services.
Dung also proposed that the company consider setting up a representative office or technology hub in Vietnam to serve as a base for developing digital financial products for the Southeast Asian market.
Revolut currently offers a full suite of financial services through its mobile app, including multi-currency banking, instant international transfers, and global payments. The company is expanding across the Asia-Pacific region and has identified Vietnam as a promising market for smart and digital finance.
The deputy prime minister also held talks with iProov, a global leader in biometric identity verification. Discussions focused on potential collaboration in developing Vietnam’s national digital identification and e-government systems.
Dung suggested that iProov study ways to cooperate in enhancing Vietnam’s digital ID and authentication platform (VNeID) to strengthen cybersecurity and data protection for citizens and businesses. He also highlighted areas for partnership such as technology transfer, technical consulting, and workforce training in biometrics, data security, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
Later the same day, Dung met with Cundall, a UK-based engineering and design consultancy known for its expertise in sustainable development and green construction.
He encouraged Cundall to share best practices on international standards for spatial planning, sustainable design, and energy efficiency. The deputy prime minister also proposed cooperation in technical consulting, training, and technology transfer to support Vietnam’s efforts in developing smart, eco-friendly infrastructure and climate-resilient urban planning.
