HCMC – Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has urged China Railway Signal & Communication Company (CRSC) to transfer technology and share expertise to help modernize the country’s railway system.

During a meeting with CRSC Chairman Lou Qiliang on December 17, Ha emphasized the importance of collaboration between CRSC, Vietnamese firms, and the Vietnam Railway Corporation to advance strategic rail projects. These projects include cross-border rail connections, urban rail systems in Hanoi and HCMC, and high-speed railway development.

Ha also called for CRSC’s assistance in developing technical standards, regulations, and legal frameworks for Vietnam’s rail sector, particularly in signaling and control systems.

CRSC expressed interest in supplying advanced, cost-competitive railway technologies and services to Vietnam. The company also showed readiness to invest in railway projects, provide training, and support research and development initiatives.

As part of broader efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, Vietnam and China have agreed to explore three cross-border rail projects. Details of these projects have not yet been disclosed.
