HCMC – Vietnamese and Singaporean businesses are expanding cooperation in the electronics and semiconductor industries through a new trade networking event held on October 16 at the Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP) 2025 exhibition in Singapore.

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA), and the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) to promote business connections and explore investment opportunities between the two countries.

Cao Xuan Thang, commercial counsellor and head of the Vietnam Trade Office at the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, said Singapore has remained one of Vietnam’s largest foreign investors in recent years and is currently the second-largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI) overall. Most of Singapore’s FDI in Vietnam has been poured into the manufacturing and processing industries, particularly electronics and electrical components.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Singapore has also maintained strong growth, driven by exports and imports of electronic parts, electrical equipment, and related products.

Thang noted that the Vietnamese Government has introduced multiple policies and programs to accelerate the development of the electronics, semiconductor, and supporting industries, encouraging both domestic and foreign enterprises to invest further in these sectors.
