HCMC – Vietnam views Singapore as a key regional partner with mutual interests and a shared strategic vision, said Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, during his official visit to Singapore.

Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng highlighted growing Vietnam-Singapore relations, underscored by close leadership ties and robust trade and investment collaboration.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man reaffirmed Vietnam’s recognition of Singapore as a crucial partner in the region and emphasized the importance of shared goals and strategies.
The two leaders discussed measures to deepen cooperation and elevate bilateral relations. They agreed that political and diplomatic collaboration will continue to guide the overall relationship, backed by enhanced exchanges of delegations, high-level contacts, and multi-level engagement.
They also stressed the importance of creating a favorable legal framework and monitoring the implementation of agreements in critical areas such as the digital economy, green economy, clean energy, and innovation.
Both sides acknowledged significant opportunities to expand cooperation in defense, security, maritime and air exchanges, cybersecurity, and environmental protection. They underscored the need to strengthen maritime connectivity and protect marine ecology through advanced technologies.
The leaders emphasized the effective execution of the cooperation agreement between their legislatures to further elevate the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s December 1-3 visit to Singapore is at the invitation of Singapore’s Parliament Speaker Seah Kian Peng. Trade between the two nations reached US$7.6 billion in the January-September period of this year, a 12.7% year-on-year rise.
