HCMC – Maritime pilotage organizations nationwide have reached a consensus to reduce service fees by at least 10% for all Vietnamese-flagged vessels starting April 1.
The Ministry of Construction announced their decision today, March 27, which is aimed at alleviating soaring logistics costs and supporting domestic shipping lines amid mounting pressures from global geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz.
The 10% discount focuses specifically on oil and gas tankers, a vital segment for national energy security. According to the ministry, this synchronized action between regulators and businesses is crucial to maintaining seamless maritime operations and stabilizing the supply chain during this volatile period.
The northern and southern maritime pilotage companies, members of the Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation, will apply the reduced fees from April 1 to May 1 this year. This initiative reflects the maritime industry’s commitment to accompanying businesses through global economic uncertainties.
