HCMC – An Giang Province has directed that all projects in Phu Quoc Special Zone serving the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2027 complete legal procedures and begin construction in September, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
The province is adjusting zoning plans and addressing legal and site clearance issues to accelerate progress. A special task force will be set up to handle land clearance, ensuring compliance with regulations while shortening timelines.
Authorities will prioritize land where residents have agreed to hand over sites, allowing investors to start construction. For areas not yet cleared, compensation plans will be finalized, and further negotiations will be carried out. Sites that remain unresolved after multiple rounds of consultation will be handled under legal procedures.
Under a decision issued by the prime minister in May, the former Kien Giang Province will implement 21 projects, including public investment, public-private partnerships (PPP), and business ventures, with a total planned investment of over VND137.1 trillion.
