HCMC — Vietnam will break ground on or inaugurate 80 infrastructure projects to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Chinh made the announcement at the Government’s monthly meeting for April held on May 6, which reviewed economic performance, public investment, and national programs.
The projects are part of celebrations for the the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and the reunification of the nation (April 30) and the upcoming National Day (September 2), he said.
The Government is drafting a resolution to implement the Politburo’s Resolution 68, aimed at boosting private sector development. Over 60 policy documents are being prepared for submission to the National Assembly.
Chinh said ministries and local governments were restructuring political institutions according to a two-tier local governance system and responding to the new U.S. tariff policy under directives from Party General Secretary To Lam. He added that Vietnam is preparing for key diplomatic activities and trade talks with the U.S.
The Government would continue to prioritize infrastructure development and macroeconomic stability.
