Vietjet has announced the first direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Brisbane (Australia) under the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese, and representatives of agencies, enterprises and people of the two countries.
After Melbourne and Sydney, Brisbane is the third city in Australia to which Vietjet has operated direct flights, and also the first route connecting Vietnam to Brisbane in the state of Queensland.
On the occasion of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s official visit to Vietnam and the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Vietjet announced the launch of Ho Chi Minh City – Brisbane service scheduled for June 16, 2023 with two return flights per week on modern wide-body A330 aircraft, which will help promote trade between Vietnam and Brisbane, Queensland state in particular and Australia in general, alongside further developing bilateral relations in the future.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at the ceremony: “I am especially pleased to acknowledge today the announcements by Vietjet of increased direct flights to Australian capitals. And in the case of Vietjet, direct flights, for the first time, to beautiful Brisbane in the leadup to its hosting the Olympics in 2032, of course.”
The new route will shorten the traveling time and create favourable conditions for people and tourists to fly between “The city named after Uncle Ho”, Vietnam’s leading economic and cultural center, and Brisbane, the third largest city, also dubbed “New York” of the Land of Kangaroo.
Vietjet offers customers good flying experiences with a variety of utilities, a wide choice of SkyBoss Business, SkyBoss, Deluxe, Eco ticket classes, and culinary services imbued with Vietnamese and international identity served on the new, modern aircraft by Vietjet’s dedicated, friendly cabin crews along with many attractive customer service programs.
The flight takes off from Ho Chi Minh City at 10:50 (local time) and lands in Brisbane at 21:55 (local time). The return flight will depart at 23:30 (local time) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 05:10 in the following day (local time).
Marking the 50 years of meaningful diplomatic relations between the two countries, after Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Vietjet has plans to open more new routes connecting Vietnam and Australia, expanding the flight network connecting Australia to the other countries across the region and the world.
