HCMC – The national steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control has reported 12 new Covid-19 patients, who flew back to Vietnam from Russia through Quang Ninh-based Van Don International Airport on July 17, taking the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 396 today, July 21.
These patients onboard Flight VN5062, which had earlier transited in Belarus, were immediately sent to quarantine centers after their arrival, VietnamPlus news site reported.
Four patients, aged between 24 and 53, were transported to Nam Dinh Province for quarantine. They are residents of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh and Nghe An provinces.
The four, including one woman and three men, are being treated at Nam Dinh General Hospital after their positive test results came out on July 20.
The remaining eight cases, tagged from the 389th to 396th, were put under quarantine in Ninh Binh Province upon arrival. The eight patients, aged from 24 to 41, are residents of Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, Thai Binh and Nam Dinh provinces and Haiphong and Hanoi cities.
Their test results came back positive for the virus on July 19. The eight, seven men and one woman, are receiving treatment at Cau Yen General Clinic in Ninh Binh Province.
As of 6.00 a.m. today, Vietnam has gone 96 consecutive days without community transmission of Covid-19.
