HCMC – Party General Secretary To Lam has called for Vietnam and Australia to expand cooperation in human resources and labor development, particularly in high-skilled labor, experts, and scientists.
On the afternoon of September 10, Party General Secretary To Lam met with Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn, who is on a state visit to Vietnam from September 9 to 12.
To Lam expressed appreciation of Mostyn’s first state visit to Vietnam, and congratulated Australia on its achievements in various fields, especially science and technology, cultural diversity, and climate change response. He expressed confidence that Australia would make active contributions to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Governor-General Sam Mostyn spoke highly of Vietnam’s people, rich history, and cultural traditions, as well as the optimism and resilience of the Vietnamese in nation-building.
Vietnam is one of Australia’s most trusted partners, she said, adding that the two countries should continue close coordination across all areas to build a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
Party General Secretary To Lam reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of valuing its friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Australia.
Australia is a reliable partner of Vietnam, he stressed.
He said he was pleased to see bilateral ties growing strongly, substantively, and effectively, with both countries becoming each other’s key partners in politics, economy, and science and technology.
He noted that Vietnam is entering a new stage of development — an era of national prosperity and strength. To realize its two centenary goals, the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam have recently adopted many important policies. In this context, Vietnam welcomes Australia’s support and companionship in implementing these key policies, he added.
He expressed hope that with strong political determination from both sides, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia would continue to thrive in the coming years.
