Vietnam’s President Luong Cuong hosts welcome ceremony for Hungarian counterpart

HCMC – President of Vietnam Luong Cuong presided over a welcome ceremony in honor of his Hungarian counterpart Tamas Sulyok this morning, May 28, at the Presidential Palace.

The Hungarian President is on an official visit to Vietnam from May 27 to 29 at the invitation of President Luong Cuong.

This is the first visit to Vietnam by a Hungarian head of state in 11 years, taking place as the two countries celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

President Tamas Sulyok is scheduled to meet with Party General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, as well as take part in other activities.

Vietnam and Hungary established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950, and upgraded their ties to a comprehensive partnership in September 2018.

Hungary currently has 21 valid FDI projects in Vietnam with total registered capital of US$50.66 million, ranking 52nd out of 149 countries and territories investing in the country.
