Vingroup signs MOU with Warner Music Group, Indochina Productions

HCMC – Vingroup JSC (HOSE: VIC) signed a memorandum of understanding with Warner Music Group and Indochina Productions on September 26 to promote filmmaking in the country.

The agreement aims to promote Vietnam as a destination for international filmmakers and music producers. The partnership was formalized during the Vietnam Tourism – Cinema Promotion Program in the U.S., themed “Vietnam – New Destination of World Cinema”, at the DGA Theater Complex in Los Angeles, California. The event was hosted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Vingroup will support Warner Music Group and Indochina Productions by providing access to its Vinpearl resorts and VinWonders theme parks for filming and music video production. The group’s electric vehicle brand, VinFast, will also be made available for use in these projects.

As part of the deal, Warner Music Group’s global artists may perform at Vingroup-hosted events, including the 8Wonder International Music Festival.

Wrapping up the trading session today, September 30, VIC inched down by 1.18% to VND42,000, with a trading volume of over 2.9 million shares.

With 153 winners and 241 losers, the VN-Index lost 2.98 points, or 0.23%, to close at 1,287.94 on Monday.

Trading volume and value decreased by 21.3% and 24.5% over the previous session, respectively, with 748.4 million shares worth VND16.29 trillion changing hands. Block deals accounted for 55.13 million shares valued at VND1.17 trillion.

Bank stocks, which had supported the market in previous sessions, saw slight declines due to profit-taking pressure. BID, STB, LPB and HDB each closed down about 0.5%, while mid-cap stock MSB rose by 3.57%, with 24.82 million shares traded.

TPB and VPB each gained around 1.8%. TPB took the lead by liquidity on the southern market, with more than 37.8 million shares changing hands.

Steel and securities stocks performed well. HPG advanced 1.2%, with over 37.4 million shares matched, despite foreign investors offloading 11 million shares. HSG gained 1.7%, and NKG increased 1.1%.

Securities stocks VDS, ORS and VCI improved between 2.2% and 2.5%. VIX edged up by 0.8%, with a trading volume of 23.7 million shares.

In the real estate sector, NVL fell by 4.3% to VND11,050 per share after a loss of over VND7.3 trillion for the first half of 2024, with 30 million shares traded.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index dipped 0.8 point, or 0.34%, to 234.91 points, with 98 decliners and 61 gainers. Trading volume reached 52.65 million shares worth VND1.06 trillion.
