HCMC – The Politburo today, January 18, announced the appointment of Tran Tien Dung as secretary of the Vinh Long Province Party Committee in the Mekong Delta.
Dung, formerly deputy minister of Justice, succeeds Bui Van Nghiem, who has been appointed as deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission.
Dung is also a member of the Military Region 9 Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
The appointment was announced at a conference in Vinh Long Province attended by senior officials, including Le Minh Hung, member of the Politburo and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission.
Dung, 50, holds a law degree and has held various positions at the Ministry of Justice for over two decades. He previously served as deputy secretary of Lai Chau Province Party Committee and chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
