HCMC – Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has signed a decision dismissing Le Duy Thanh from his post of chairman of the People’s Committee of Vinh Phuc Province for the 2021-2026 term.
The decision took effect today, May 29.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Agency expanded an investigation into violations of accounting regulations that caused serious consequences at Phuc Son Group, Thang Long Investment Trading and Real Estate Construct Joint Stock and related entities.
Investigators have initiated proceedings and detained nine more suspects, including two top leaders of Vinh Phuc Province.
Among them are Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a member of the Party Central Committee, secretary of the Party Committee of the province, head of the National Assembly delegation, and chairwoman of the People’s Council of the province; and Le Duy Thanh, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the province, chairman of the People’s Committee of the province, and member of the People’s Council of the province. Both are charged with accepting bribes.
On March 18, the Inspection Committee pf the Party Central Committee convened a meeting to review and propose disciplinary measures against Le Duy Thanh.
On April 9, the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee reviewed and enforced disciplinary action, expelling Thanh from the Party.
