HCMC — VinSpeed High-Speed Railway Investment and Development JSC, the infrastructure development arm of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, has signed a comprehensive strategic partnership and framework agreement with Siemens Mobility to cooperate on high-speed rail development in Vietnam.
Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility will act as a technology partner. The company will be responsible for the design, supply and integration of Velaro Novo high-speed trains and key railway systems. These include ETCS Level 2 signaling with automatic train operation, telecommunications and electrification systems.
Siemens Mobility is also exploring the provision of maintenance services to support system availability. The two sides said the partnership sets a foundation for future implementation contracts and aims to support the development of a modern rail network aligned with international standards.
VinSpeed and Siemens Mobility are planning several high-speed rail projects across Vietnam. Two routes have been outlined. The Hanoi–Quang Ninh line will span 121 kilometers and include four stations. The Ben Thanh–Can Gio line will run 54 kilometers with two stations. The lines are expected to use advanced rail technologies covering signaling, electrification, and communications to support operational efficiency and safety.
