HCMC – HCMC’s Department of Planning and Investment has writen to the municipal government, seeking an allocation of almost VND1.4 trillion for land clearance in the HCMC-Moc Bai expressway project.
The department recommended that the city report to the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance requesting medium-term public investment capital from the 2021-2025 state budget for the project.
This funding will be used for the third component, covering compensation, support and resettlement along the section of the expressway that passes through HCMC.
The HCMC-Moc Bai expressway is 51 kilometers long, with nearly 24.7 kilometers of it in HCMC and over 26.3 kilometers in Tay Ninh Province.
Authorities from HCMC and Tay Ninh Province are expediting procedures to start work on this project by 2025. Once completed, the expressway is expected to ease congestion on National Highway 22, enhance traffic safety, and boost tourism.
