HCMC – Vietnam has disbursed nearly VND27 trillion to more than 25,600 civil servants who retired early or resigned as part of a Government-led restructuring of the state apparatus, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

As of June 30, 57,158 public employees had been approved for benefits under the reorganisation policy. Of these, 43,207 had left their positions, and 25,611 had received financial compensation. The figure excludes military and police personnel.

The payouts are being made under Decree 178/2024, which sets out financial support for civil servants, public employees, contract workers and armed forces personnel affected by organisational changes in the political system.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said it is overseeing implementation and providing guidance to ensure compliance with the decree.

The restructuring program aims to reduce administrative costs and streamline operations within the state system.
