HCMC – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has approved VND700 billion in emergency funding from the central budget reserve to assist Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak in recovery efforts following recent floods and landslides.
Under Decision No. 2543/QD-TTg dated November 21, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong will each receive VND200 billion, while Gia Lai and Dak Lak are allocated VND150 billion each. The funds aim to support urgent disaster recovery as requested by the Ministry of Finance.
Provincial authorities are tasked with balancing local budgets alongside central support, ensuring transparent and lawful use of the funds, and reporting to the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and other relevant agencies.
Preliminary reports from the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and local authorities indicate that as of 6:30 a.m. on November 21, floods and landslides have claimed 43 lives and left nine missing across the affected regions.
Agriculture has suffered severe losses, including more than 13,000 hectares of crops, 2,000 hectares of perennial plants, 30,700 livestock and poultry, and 88 hectares of aquaculture. Flooding has also disrupted traffic at 30 points on national highways. Total estimated damages exceed VND3,000 billion.
Earlier, on November 18, Deputy Prime Minister Binh approved VND50 billion in emergency aid specifically for Khanh Hoa Province.
