HCMC – Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) will operate a pair of “Reunification Trains” specially designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of south Vietnam and the reunification of the nation (April 30).

Train SE1 will leave Hanoi Station in Hanoi City and Train SE4 will depart from Saigon Station in HCMC on April 29. The two will cross paths in Danang at noon on April 30.

During the send-off ceremony on the evening of April 29, the company and its partners will distribute surprise gifts to passengers onboard.

The journey is more than just a train ride; it is a chance to reflect on the nation’s history and cherish peace the people enjoy today.

VNR is offering a 40% discount on tickets for individuals with meritorious contributions to the revolution, including war invalids, veterans, and families of revolutionary martyrs.

Earlier, the railway sector began selling tickets in advance and added more train services on key routes for the upcoming holiday, in order to meet the surge in travel demand.

On the Hanoi–HCMC route, in addition to the five regular pairs of Thong Nhat trains operating daily, two additional SE9 trains will run from Hanoi Station to Saigon Station on April 29 and 30.

On the Hanoi–Haiphong route, aside from the four regular pairs of trains, extra services will include the LP10 and HP4 departing from Haiphong Station, and the HD2 from Hai Duong Station, operating from May 2 to 4.

Additionally, more trains will be added on routes to the central region: four extra trains on the HCMC–Danang route; eight on the Saigon–Quy Nhon route; six on the HCMC–Nha Trang route; two on the HCMC–Phan Thiet route; two on the Hanoi–Danang route; and four on the Hanoi–Dong Hoi route.
