HCMC – Vinh Son – Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VSH) expects a 32% decline in after-tax profit this year and to pay a 35% dividend for 2025, according to documents prepared for its annual general meeting scheduled for March 26.
The company expects commercial power output in 2026 to reach around 1.92 billion kWh, down 19.29% against 2025. Revenue is projected at around VND1.89 trillion and after-tax profit at VND584 billion, down nearly 20% and 32% year-on-year, respectively.
VSH said hydrological conditions in 2026 are forecast to be influenced by the La Nina weather phenomenon in the early months before shifting to a neutral state, without maintaining the strong La Nina pattern seen in 2025. Total rainfall in the central region is expected to remain relatively stable during the year.
For profit distribution, the company plans to pay shareholders a cash dividend for 2025 at a rate of 35%, equivalent to VND3,500 per share.
Closing the trading session today, March 10, VSH shares rose 450 points, or 1.05%, to close at VND43,450 each, with 15,300 shares changing hands, valuing the company at around VND10,264.68 billion.
The VN-Index rose 23.94 points, or 1.45%, to 1,676.73 points, with 258 gainers and 88 decliners. Trading volume exceeded 1.52 billion shares valued at VND41.48 trillion. Block deals accounted for nearly 194 million shares worth VND3.58 trillion.
Among bluechips, DGC hit the daily ceiling at VND75,900. Several others, including HPG, VNM, MBB and STB, also closed at their ceiling prices. HPG posted the highest matched volume in the market with more than 91.2 million shares traded.
Oil and gas stocks declined sharply, with GAS and PLX both hitting the floor prices at VND97,000 and VND53,700, respectively.
Several mid-cap and small-cap stocks such as VCG, VCK, and PNJ reached or approached their ceiling prices with strong liquidity, while many others in different sectors gained between 3% and 5%.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rebounded late in the session after briefly returning close to the reference level. The index closed up 4.71 points, or 2%, at 240.07 points, with 132 advancers and 39 decliners.
