HCMC – Phu Quoc Express JSC will double weekly trips on the Vung Tau–Con Dao route from six to 12 between April 15 and June 15.
The company will operate two round trips per day, except Mondays, with departures from Vung Tau at 7:30 a.m. and return trips from Con Dao at 1:00 p.m. The Thang Long vessel has a capacity of more than 1,000 passengers.
Previously, the service ran six trips a week, including three departures from Vung Tau on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and three return trips from Con Dao on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The operator will also cut ticket prices during the same period. Weekday fares will range from VND410,000 to VND590,000, down from VND555,000–790,000. Weekend fares will fall to VND480,000–690,000 from VND665,000–950,000. VIP tickets will be reduced to VND950,000 from VND1.1 million.
The increase in frequency aims to meet travel demand and improve links between the mainland and Con Dao Island.
On the Tran De–Con Dao route, additional sailings will be added for the April 30 holiday. Extra departures from Tran De are scheduled at 10:45 a.m. on April 30, with return trips from Con Dao at 2:00 p.m. the same day and 1:45 p.m. on May 1.
Tourism activity in Con Dao rose in 2025. According to local authorities, the island received about 612,038 visitors, up 4.36% year-on-year. International arrivals reached an estimated 25,628, up 6.78%. Tourism revenue exceeded VND3.06 trillion, up nearly 30%.
