HCMC – Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong hosted a state-level welcome ceremony for French President Emmanuel Macron at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on the morning of May 26.
French President Emmanuel Macron is on a state visit to Vietnam from May 25 to 27 at the invitation of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong.
At the welcome cermony at the Presidential Palace this morning, President Luong Cuong and President Emmanuel Macron attended the flag-raising ceremony, reviewed the honor guard of the Vietnam People’s Army, and witnessed a military parade held in their honor.
Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders held talks and witnessed the signing and exchange of bilateral cooperation documents.
President Macron is also scheduled to meet with Party General Secretary To Lam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and take part in other official activities.

This is the fifth visit by a French president to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973, and President Macron’s first visit to Vietnam since taking office.
