Since its inception days, Hoiana, a new premium integrated resort in South Hoi An of Quang Nam Province, has deeply committed to the betterment of the local community, especially through job creation and education.
The resort’s greatest value is its companion with Quang Nam Province’s sustainable development and commitment to improving the quality of life of local residents by striving to support and offer opportunities for each household in the community and improve the environment quality.
It considers these jobs as one of their missions and achieve them through educational and economic development plans and initiatives related to social welfare and public healthcare in the province.
As the largest integrated resort in the region, Hoiana aims to contribute to developing the central region into the leading tourism destination in Vietnam.
Offering career opportunities
Hoiana has created thousands of jobs during its first operational phase, and the trend is set to continue as southern Hoi An’s reputation as a tourism paradise is strengthening. Currently, the majority of Hoiana’s 2,500 employees are Vietnamese, and of the total, 44% are locals.
Furthermore, Hoiana has collaborated with the Quang Nam government to establish the Quang Nam-Hoiana Tourism Vocational Training Center under Quang Nam College of Arts, Culture and Tourism. The center provides international-standard hospitality training in several key areas, including golf course maintenance and operation, housekeeping, food-and-beverage services and language skills.
While the program tuition is fully funded by Hoiana, students are even provided with training allowances and other benefits. Graduates from the center are prioritised for employment opportunities at Hoiana. To date, more than 200 graduates from the center have been accepted to the company.
Nurturing future generations
Realizing the importance of creating favorable conditions for future generations, the Hoiana Shores Golf Club, which welcomed its first golfers in September 2019, offered fee exemptions for golfers during its trial operation. These golfers were encouraged to make a donation to support local schools.
The initiative received golfers’ strong support. More than 4,800 golfers have participated in the program and within months contributed more than VND4 billion to three local schools, from September 2019 to March 2020.
Specifically, Hoiana used the money to build a new playground, improve roofs and floors, and provide new furniture and kitchen equipment for Duy Hai Kindergarten. Hoiana also furnished 17 LCD televisions and 17 laptops for classrooms, and built a multi-functional hall and mini football field for Duy Hai Primary School. For Ngo Quyen Secondary School, a parking area, a toilet and a mini football field were also constructed.
In 2018, Hoiana installed computer rooms and clean water systems for schools in Duy Xuyen District. Fund for the activity was sourced from its VND7-billion donations to local communities.
Last year, the company continued its educational sponsorship, donating more than VND1 billion to furnish 10 schools and present scholarships to students in Dai Loc District.
Hoiana is also committed to actively and positively contributing to the socioeconomic advancement of local communities and to do so as practically as possible. It donated healthcare equipment to Duy Hai Commune Health Center in 2018.
More recently, it has cooperated with the VinaCapital Foundation to supply medical equipment, costing more than VND1 billion, to premature infant care units at clinics in Duy Xuyen and Thang Binh.
It has pledged to continue accompanying the local authorities in socioeconomic development plans, especially in education and healthcare sectors. Its Hoiana Cares Fund, established in 2018, has helped Hoiana conduct CSR programs.
The Quang Nam-Hoiana Tourism Vocational Training Center will continue enrolling students this year and the following years to offer more opportunities to locals.
With the scale and ambition of an integrated resort, Hoiana highly values economic, environmental and social sustainable development in Vietnam. It is gradually forming itself as not only an ideal destination for visitors but also a bastion of career opportunities and dreams for future generations.
