HCMC – Work has begun on a coastal road project designed to provide seamless traffic connectivity from HCMC to three coastal provinces in the northeast of the Mekong Delta, starting with Ba Lai 8 Bridge.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Ba Lai 8 Bridge as part of the coastal road which links Ben Tre, Tien Giang, and Tra Vinh provinces took place in Ben Tre on October 2.
The road and bridge span 13 kilometers, with four lanes for cars and two mixed-use lanes. The project, managed by the Ben Tre Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport Works, is located in Binh Dai and Ba Tri districts. It requires a total of VND2,255 billion, with VND1,500 billion coming from the central budget and the remainder from provincial budgets.
Ba Lai 8 Bridge is the first component of the coastal road project, which is scheduled for completion by the end of next year.
