HCMC – The first phase of the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot expressway project is set to get off the ground next month, according to the project owner.
Khanh Hoa Province’s traffic infrastructure project management board said on May 13 that the province will start work on the first component of the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot expressway next month at a total cost of over VND5.3 trillion.
in this component, the road will be around 31.5 kilometers long, with the starting point at the intersection between National Highways 1A and 26B, and the endpoint in Ninh Tay Commune, Ninh Hoa District.
The four-lane road is designed with a maximum speed of 100 km per hour, and 21 bridges and three interchanges. The project is expected to be completed by 2026.
The first component will require a total of nearly VND21 trillion.
The project is divided into three components to be developed under the public investment format. And the entire road length would be 117.5 kilometers.
The first component is being invested by the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee while the second component is nearly 37 kilometers long and invested by the Ministry of Transport.
The third component will have a total length of over 48 kilometers and be carried out by the Dak Lak Province People’s Committee.
The Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot expressway is expected to be an arterial road connecting the Central Highlands region with the South Central Coast, thus creating a driving force for the development of the two regions.
